Update on our Return to Work Plan

June 18

To our Innovation Works Community,

As the province begins to re-open, many of you have asked about our own plans for re-entry. While we remain temporarily closed, our staff project team, with the support of our volunteer team, is hard at work preparing to adapt our space and ensure you have all the information you need for your safe return to Innovation Works.
While we are not yet able to announce our exact return date, re-entry to Innovation Works may begin by the end of July or sooner if possible. Our opening date will be announced when we have completed all of the health and safety protocols required to keep our community safe.
Today, we are sharing (below) our four stage Return to Work Plan that has been developed through extensive emerging research on best practices for a safe return to the workplace. The Return to Work Plan has four stages, and we are currently in Stage 1 – as mentioned above, we will move to our own Stage 2, when the Ontario government signals the next phase of their plan. As the legend on the graphic shows, entering Stage 2 will see a gradual return of staff and co-tenant members over a period of several weeks.
In the coming weeks, we will share more information and context about our plans both on our website, and directly to our co-tenant members, staff and volunteers -  including more detailed plans about the health and safety precautions and operational policies we’ll be putting in place.
Our biggest priority and guiding principle for our Return to Work Plan is the health and safety of our co-tenant members, employees, volunteers and guests. As we’ve all come to know in this climate, the best laid plans may have to change, and will we continue to follow the advice of local and provincial health authorities and adapt our protocols as necessary.
Thank you for your continued love and support. We can’t wait to start connecting people and sparking more impact in a safe, friendly, and in-person environment! We hope to see your smiling faces soon.
