COVID-19 Return to Work Plan

COVID-19 Return to Work Plan

Mandatory masking remains in place for all co-tenant members, colleagues, volunteers, and guests at Innovation Works because of our foundational commitment to community care. Community care, at this moment, means prioritizing the health and safety of all who enter our space, especially those who are particularly vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19. It also means extending respect and kindness to Pillar/Innovation Works volunteers, colleagues, co-tenant members, and guests who aim to uphold these values.

While masking is no longer a provincial mandate, as a private institution we reserve the right to implement policies that align with our values. We made this decision based on recommendations from the Middlesex London Health Unit that wearing a mask over your mouth and nose can reduce your risk of getting COVID-19 and prevent you from passing a virus to others.

If you or your guests arrive without a mask, a volunteer at our Welcome Desk will provide one for you or your guest.

We ask that you please continue to:

  • Wear a mask when entering and exiting the space, when in common areas such as the kitchens, and when moving around the space such as walking to the restroom or through stairways, and remain respectful of others.
  • Stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or feel sick.

We believe this approach is consistent with the commitments we’ve made to contributing to a caring, supportive, and inclusive community.

Limitation of Liability

Innovation Works has taken every health and safety precaution possible to reduce the risk of exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Any indoor public space where people come together produces an increased risk of infection exposure. By being in a public space like Innovation Works you voluntarily assume all the risks related to infection exposure.

During your visit to Innovation Works, please help to keep each other healthy by wearing a face mask, a City of London mandatory bylaw requirement*, following our signage and all health and safety guidelines.

*City of London mandatory mask bylaw requires face coverings in all indoor public spaces. Those exempt from wearing face coverings include children under the age of 12, people with a medical condition that inhibits their ability to wear a mask, people who cannot apply or remove a mask without help, and those with accommodations under the Ontario Human Rights Code or the Accessibility for Ontarians with a Disabilities Act.
